Overview

QWiC was established to address the gender disparity in the tech field by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for women in computing at Queen’s University. The club offers various initiatives, including workshops, speaker events, and networking opportunities, to help members develop technical skills and build professional connections. As a dynamic community, QWiC encourages women to explore diverse computing careers and overcome barriers within the industry.

Results

Before QWiC, women in computing at Queen’s University faced challenges in accessing mentorship, community support, and practical learning experiences. By creating a space dedicated to empowering women in tech, the club addresses these challenges and provides valuable resources for career growth.

The club’s workshops, networking sessions, and mentorship programs have positively impacted members’ confidence and professional skills. Additionally, an updated website and active social media presence have expanded the club’s outreach, making resources more accessible and promoting member achievements.
